Common questions about mobile hairdressing and what to know before your appointment. If anything you want to know isn't listed, please do get in touch.
For dry or wet cuts, please have dry hair that has been washed within the last 12 hours. For a cut and blow dry, wash as close to the appointment as possible and leave it wet or towel dried. If you usually wear your hair straightened, leave it clean and dry and I will straighten before cutting. For colours, please leave hair dry and unwashed.
Just a couple of chairs with low backs, and a table if we are colouring. A kitchen is usually ideal thanks to good lighting, power sockets and a sweepable, wipeable floor. I supply a gown and hairdryer. Let me know the day before if you would like me to bring towels, or shampoo and conditioner, and I can bring a professional light for evening bookings if needed.
I accept all three. For payments over £30, a bank transfer is preferred.
I require at least 3 days notice to cancel a booking. 72 hours or more notice carries zero fee, 48 hours or less is a 25% charge, and 24 hours or less is a 50% charge.
Yes, but I need to know in advance so I can source the correct one. Where possible, please tell me the brand and number or letter of the toner you usually have. If you are not sure, I can suggest one for you. Not all highlighted hair needs a toner.
No, unless you require me to travel outside of my usual coverage area of Bristol, Portishead, Clevedon, Almondsbury and the surrounding areas.
As a guide, allowing 20 to 45 minutes for colour development: cut and blow dry around 45 minutes, full head highlights around 1 hour, half head around 45 minutes, quarter head, semi or all over colour around 35 minutes, and a men's cut around 20 to 35 minutes.
Davines, Aveda and Aesop are among my favourite brands. I also recommend Lush for some great natural and vegan products.
Usually a kitchen, as it has a worktop, power sockets and a hard floor that is easy to sweep. A dustpan and brush is much easier than vacuuming up hair.
It is very easy to rinse colour out using a standard shower head over a bath or a sink. I may need to give you a hand with this.
As much notice as possible. I suggest at least 2 weeks, but I always welcome short notice enquiries as I sometimes get cancellations.
Yes, I cut children's hair for ages 7 and over.
I'm happy to help. Get in touch and I'll get back to you.
